ADDITIONAL INFO

Parents in Lessons
If a parent feels that they need to be present during their son/daughter's lesson, they are welcome to sit in on a lesson as silent observers only.  Parents who do sit in on lessons will be asked to refrain from answering for their child, unless there are special circumstances.  Any parents who do sit in on lessons will be asked to take notes and/or record the lesson, so that they can reinforce (at home) the information taught during that lesson.  Due to limited space, only one parent in the lesson please.
Prompt Pick-up after Lessons
Parents, please be on time to pick up your son/daughter at the end of their lesson.  This is especially important if your son/daughter’s lesson is at the end of the teaching day.
Literature
The Teacher will ask that each student purchase at least 1 book to work out of per year (unless they already have a strong vocal music library).  Sheet music and/or books that are "Property of Monitz Vocal Studio" are on loan only.  Students are expected to take good care of these items until they are returned.  If a student does not take care of the sheet music/book or loses it, they will no longer be loaned music.  Additionally, there may be times when a student wants to learn a specific song that Rebekkah might not have in her library.  If this is the case, the Student will be required to purchase that piece of music.  www.musicnotes.com is a fantastic sheet music resource.
Audition Prep
Occasionally, a student will need an additional lesson or an extended lesson, to prepare for an upcoming audition or performance.  Please communicate with Rebekkah about this as soon as possible, so that she can make time in the schedule.
Winter Recital
We will have 1 informal recital/performance on Saturday, December 12th 2020 (info TBA)
Spring Recital
We will have 1 formal recital in Spring 2021.  The recital will take place on Saturday, June 5th at 2:00.  The location will be at the Cd’A Library Community Room.  Please mark your calendars and invite family and friends.
Solo and Ensemble
Students who are in Middle or High School, will be asked and encouraged to sing at their local Solo and Ensemble Festival in 2021.
MusicFest Northwest 2020
This festival happens each Spring at Gonzaga University and is open to Middle School aged students to adults.  In years past, we’ve had 2 Gold Medal and 5 Silver Medal winners.
Referrals
If you (a current student) refer a student (and they sign up for weekly, tuition-based lessons) you will receive a free voice lesson.  Please make sure to tell Rebekkah.
Gift Certificates
The Studio offers Gift Certificates for anyone to purchase.
