- Rebekkah has over 24 years of teaching experience and is a seasoned singer/performer.
- She has a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.
- She also understands the importance of vocal health, especially in young singers. Often, singers (especially those who do theatre) come to the studio trying to perfect their "belt" - when in reality, they are shout-singing, and need to find and strengthen their head voice in order to find a healthy mix. This is ESPECIALLY vital at a young age, when the voice is still growing and forming. A common thing that is focused on in lessons, is helping theatre/pop/non-classical singers find a healthy mix, so that they have voice longevity.
- Classical focused singers get strong foundational teaching to help them achieve their goals and to help them get to the next level (many have gone onto college to pursue music).
- Choral singers often take lessons so that they get foundational classical teaching, while learning their music.
- Instruction includes a vast knowledge of various stylistic approaches to singing - beginning with healthy technique in the classical tradition.
- Rebekkah LOVES to teach music theory - and does sight-reading at every lesson. At first, some students don't quite understand the value in learning theory and sight-reading. But any student who goes into any type of performing (professional or not) will soon realize that having foundational understanding of music theory, how to follow sheet music, as well as how to successfully sight-read a new piece of music, is vital in the learning and performing process.
- When looking for a voice teacher, make sure to find one that has the credentials, experience and knowledge in the field. You'll get all of this if you choose Monitz Vocal Studio.
- Rebekkah can teach "tone deaf" people how to sing - people come into the studio often, assuming that there is no hope for them. But with time, and application of the principles, they begin to match pitch and sing with confidence. Some have even gone on to compose and arrange their own pieces, while accompanying themselves on an instrument.
- It is not uncommon for a person 40+ to contact the studio, thinking it's "too late" for them to reach any kind of goals. Without fail, Rebekkah has seen people of ALL ages and stages (who do the work) reach goals beyond their expectations.
- FUN FACT: a lot of adult students think that they will be the only "old" person in the studio (many think that the studio only teaches middle school and high school students) - when in reality - a large amount of students are out of high school and over 30 years of age.
- Monitz Vocal Studio addresses the whole person. We don't cut corners. We understand that you are a human being with life stressors and all that comes with walking on this planet.
- Friends and colleagues of the studio are always excited to see the diverse range of ages at our recitals.

- Tailored voice lessons to each individual learning style and personal goals.
